  • Men and women who never drink alcohol have the highest level of mental well-being, according to new study.
  • It is apparent even after adjusting for sociodemographic characteristics, body mass index, smoking status and other factors.
  • The study was based on data from 10,386 people in Hong Kong, and compared with data from 31,079 people in the United States.
  • Study author says that alcohol consumption is rising, and these findings suggest that we should quit alcohol altogether - and not just drink in moderation - to improve our lives.
